The Winter 2008 class should feel free to start editing here!

Good-bye 2007! I think it was a good year, but then any year you see through to its end potentially qualifies as a "good" year.

Thanks, John for getting this started. Bill.

1/4/08  Reflecting on last evening's class, there was an information overload for me.  I am sure I will be referring back to our class wiki for insight/help with the many strategies and techniques to be a successful web-wide communicator.  Just a "heads up" to my classmates and instructor.---------Mark

1/4/08  I need some help logging back into my del.icio.us account.  when I type in www.del.icio.us.com into the search bar, i get brought to a film review site.??  Has any of my classmates experienced this too?  Or do I need to make a simple adjustment.?-----Mark

1/5/08  Remember that not all websites require or allow the use of the www prefix. This site for example is simply del.icio.us   -----  John

1/8/08 Thanks, I just needed the simple adjustment.---------Mark

1/14/08  I am sitting home today watching the snow come down!!!!  As I have a bit of free time while my three year old takes a nap, I would like to announce to the class I am interested in presenting the Turning Point Technology  (Audience Response System) as my class project.  Hopefully, this will not conflict with other clasmate's ideas.-----Mark

1/14/08  Hey Mark, sounds like a great idea. Do you have access to this technology? If not, we have a Turning Point system available for loan via our Equipment Reservation System. ---- John

1/14/08  Yes, Prospect Mountain High School is fortunate and does have the program and remotes.  I actually have been the guinea pig for my school. I have been using it the past year.  I will look into checking out PSU and the equipment reservation.----Mark

1/22/08  I found a site which allows you to post office documents and files online.  It's an easy way of creating links for school documents (ie. syllabi, rubrics, course appendices, etc.)  visit www.thinkfree.com.  It is free to register and I'll get the link on our diigo group page too.

1/26/08  The think free site will save a file as large as 10MB which is more than the google docs.  I also found it to be more reliable.  I have posted some course information and rubrics there already, as I am working on upgrading my school's (Prospect Mountain High school) health/PE dept. link.  If you get a chance, check it out and I am open to feedback (http://bassgod5.edublogs.org/).  I will try it out when the new quarter begins this Monday the 28th.  I'll get the students in the various classes I'll be teaching to visit and respond in some way.----------Mark

2/11/08  John,

Just wondering if you established a folder for our class to transfer our projects to.  I am just about finished with mine and would like to save it there.----------------Mark

2/15/08 Mark and class,

I've created a Projects page in our Winter 2008 area. Feel free to add your project there by creating a new page using the title of your project as the name.

Audrey here....back on track. Thanks John for helping me muddle through the massive amount of information at our fingertips. For my project I will be focusing on social networking via MySpace and Youtube. My focus will be on how these tools can make me more available to my customers, build lasting and quality relationship with them and offer current information that is both valid and useful.  Peace, Audrey

Hello Everyone~ Hope you all are safe and sound and handling this lovely, icey weather well. I am wondering if any of you have a MySpace page? If so would you mind if I took a look for my presentation?  If you don't mind and have a moment please email me your username and I will check it out.

audrey@audreydrake.com            Thank you! and safe driving to all!

2/22/08

Hello! Great class last night. Hey, it looks like all of the projects have been deleted from the Projects page (The one on the home page).  I have a page there and it is gone this morning. Anyone know what happened?  ~Audrey~

2/22/08

Hi Audrey, looks like the content on that page had been deleted accidently. I've created a new pages called Class Projects where I'm having us put our links. You'll find your link there, along with Mark's placeholder for his ARS project. The cool thing about wikis is that I was able to recover the old Projects page from the history of that page! Makes it so much nicer when you have that "Oops" moment.

2/22/08

Thank you John! ~A~

3/1/08

I must have deleted the projects page before I left on my trip to North Carolina.  I thought I entered my project there.  Thank goodness John recovered your great project, Audrey.  Very informative!-----Mark
